Our story
Hello! I’m Dane Kingsland, owner and co-founder of D&R SnackPit. After my wife and I relocated to Maryland from Arizona, it didn’t take long for us to discover the incredible variety and beauty of the parks in Montgomery County: many surrounded by the lush and picturesque greenery of the woods. Replete with an abundance of amenities like walking and bike trails, dog parks, outdoor gyms, athletic fields and specialty events/attractions, they tend to draw a large diversity of crowds.
Given that these parks are highly utilized public venues, we observed a conspicuous absence of on-site or nearby options for refreshments - in many cases, not even vending machines. We found this particularly unusual at parks featuring athletic fields and/or events. Hailing from the mega-sprawl city of Phoenix, there was always a gas station or convenience store (or three!) every few blocks. The contrast was so stark, the idea for the SnackPit was born with a single question: How can we provide mobile snack and beverage service to these audiences?
Our goal is to provide value and exceptional service to our community. What started as weekend vending at Wheaton Regional Park, has expanded to Olney Manor Recreational Park & Cabin John Regional Park. As we continue to grow, we hope to extend our offerings to even more venues.

Our convenient cart takes up a small amount of space indoors or out. It requires no water, electricity or a noisy generator.

Our product offerings are continually re-evaluated to ensure a varied selection that serves different venues and audiences.
